My name is Leah and I am the Counseling and Education Manager at Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Services in Salisbury, Maryland. I've been in love with my work and obsessing over affordable housing since the housing bubble burst in 2009. Since then I have worked with homeowners going through foreclosure, hopeful homebuyers on their homeownership journey, and the chronically homeless searching for their next permanent home and good night's sleep. I've served communities extensively in Baltimore and Salisbury, Maryland as well as Los Angeles, California.
I am certified by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide housing counseling services and hold several NeighborWorks America NCHEC Certifications. In 2008 I received a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude in Gender Studies and Creative Writing from Salisbury University. Currently I am pursuing my master's degree at Wilmington University. I bought leahdyson.com in 2012 after reading that everyone should preserve their namesake online before something unsavory captures it first. Prior to 2017, this site had been a placeholder. Now I use it as a platform to write and hopefully to empower others.
